PAM GRANSTON, Power Vinyasa Yoga Instructor
Pam Granston has been a long time fitness enthusiast. She started running at the age of 18 with her father who is now 82. (He still works out 2 hours per day!). In addition to her background as a runner, Pam is a triathlete and 10-year yogini.
Pam was drawn to practicing yoga as a method of bringing healing and balance to her own body after years of intensive running. As an instructor, Pam’s message to her students is “always inquire”. Inquiry leads to moments of learning, whether it be discovering which asanas (yoga poses) support the specific needs of one’s own body parts or something else totally unexpected. Pam’s classes are supportive and encouraging in a spiritual but non-religious way.
The Vinyasa style of yoga that Pam teaches builds strength specifically in the core, legs and arms. She encourages students to increase their flexibility at their own pace and most importantly, to learn to use one’s own breath. She focuses on the breath during class and how to use it as vehicle to effect and help the body in many different healthy ways.
Pam holds a degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University. She loves to learn and is constantly trying and achieving new things in many different areas of life.
