JEN RAY, Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor
Jen Ray is an energetic and engaging people person. She loves to inspire and encourage people to be the best they can be. Her passion is motivating people to live more fulfilling lives by enabling their bodies and encouraging their spirits. She focuses strongly on teaching functional training, which serves to help people’s bodies work and perform better, not just look better. As Jen says, “Not everyone needs or wants to look like a bodybuilder”.
Jen seeks to make a difference in the fight against obesity by teaching young adults and youths how to easily make fitness a part of their lives by having fun being physically active. Her instructor repertoire includes teaching Body Pump, outdoor Boot Camp, Step, Slide, Interval, Hip-Hop, and Conditioning classes.
Jen has a dynamic and winning background in competitive Power Lifting and Figure Competitions. She trained with Tanji Johnson on her fitness team in 2004. (Tanji is “Stealth” on the new ‘American Gladiators’ TV show).
One of Jen’s most favorite things in life is to to be on the water.
She loves inland-surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, golfing, rowing, running, dancing, singing, traveling to sunny locals and going wine tasting. Jen is a writer of women’s fiction and dreams of getting published someday.
Favorite Movies/Books:
“ ‘Knocked Up’ and ‘Anchorman’ are up there on my list. ‘The Davinci Code’ was my favorite book.”
People might be surprised to know:
“I worked construction and laid concrete for 1 ½ years. I was an extra in the movie ‘Life or Something Like It’ and did a scene with Angelina Jolie. I worked on a Jerry Bruckheimer TV pilot, and have done some modeling and a few commercials. I learned how to do a back handspring at age 30. I believe you are never too old to make your dreams come true…you just have to make the commitment!”
